• (My work) fix 5G ORAN software issue
  • Fixed the Kssb calculation bug in the code and solved the problem of UE failed to camp SA n78 BW 60,40,30 & CBRS BW 40.
  • Fixed the MTPL=0 power limitation issue (ex: p_NR_FR1 = 0) and allow UE to use maximum power to transmit uplink data according to spec.
  • Fixed the dciFmt0.paddingbits bug and solved the problem of UE failed to camp SA n78 BW 20.


• (My work) Developed the 3GPP 5G NR gNB algorithm & feature
  • NR CSI
    • let UE to report the RI/PMI/CQI and gNB schedules downlink data with attributes such as modulation, code rate, transmission layers... to improve DL throughput.
  • adaptive DL MCS based on BLER & CSI
    • gNB can dynamically adjust DL MCS. For example: when the channel condition is good, gNB can schedule high MCS to improve throughput. When the channel condition is poor, the gNB can lower the MCS to overcome the poor channel condition to improve DL throughput..
  • adaptive UL MCS based on BLER & SINR
    • gNB can dynamically adjust DL MCS. For example: when the channel condition is in good, gNB can schedule high MCS to improve throughput. When the channel condition is poor, the gNB can lower the MCS to overcome the poor channel condition to improve UL throughput..
  • PUCCH power control (ex: TPC Command for Scheduled PUCCH)
    • gNB can dynamically adjust the PUCCH TX power to let UE to transmit the SR, HARQ-ACK, or CSI to improve UL throughput.
  • PUSCH closed loop power control (ex: TPC Command for Scheduled PUSCH)
    • gNB can dynamically adjust the PUSCH TX power to allow the UE to transmit uplink data to improve UL throughput.
  • dump MeasurementReport RSRP_RSRQ_SINR for RIC to design the cell individual offset(CIO) to improve the handover decision.

• NR gscn_calculator basic: Enter (band, carrierBw(RB), carrier_freq_low, carrier_freq_high), then it will calculate the valid (gscn, absFreqPointA, absArfcnPointA, absFreqSsb, absArfcnSsb, dlEarfcn, nDlCenterFreq, Kssb, offsetToPointA )
• NR gscn_calculator advance: Enter (band, carrierBw(RB), carrier_freq_low, carrier_freq_high, offsetToCarrier, coreset0numRB, coreset0offsetRB), then it will calculate the valid (gscn, absFreqPointA, absArfcnPointA, absFreqSsb, absArfcnSsb, dlEarfcn, nDlCenterFreq, Kssb, offsetToPointA )
• gscn_draw: Enter the (absFreqPointA, absFreqSsb, carrierBw(RB), nDlCenterFreq, Kssb, offsetToPointA, offsetToCarrier, coreset0RB, coreset0offset), then it will draw the ssb, CS0 and carrier. This tool help to check whether the CS0 is within the BWP.

  • Beamforming Design for Per-Antenna Power Constraints in Multiuser MISO Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer System
    • 在本論文中，我們研究了併行無線資訊與能量傳輸廣播系統的波束成型設計。我們所考慮的場景是一個多天線的基地台同時傳送資訊訊號與能量訊號給多個單天線的接收機。各個接收機只會執行能量採集或資訊解碼其中一種，不會同時執行兩種功能。我們的目標是在滿足各個資訊接收機最低訊雜比的服務品質以及個別傳送天線功率限制條件下，設計波束成型向量用以最大化傳送到所有能量接收機的加權功率總和。與以往只考慮天線的總功率限制條件有所不同，本論文還考慮了個別天線功率限制，因為在現實情況下每根天線的功率放大器都有它的線性工作區間，當輸入功率過高，輸出功率會達到飽和，操作在飽和區將會導致信號的高失真和非線性。我們將訊息和能量傳輸的波束成型設計作為非凸二次約束二次規劃的問題並透過應用半定鬆弛技術來獲得問題的解。
    • In this thesis, we study the beamforming design of a simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) broadcast system. In our scenario, we consider a multi-antenna base station (BS) which sends wireless information and energy signals to multiple single-antenna receivers. Each receiver performs either information decoding (ID) or energy harvesting (EH), but not both. Our goal is to design the beamforming vectors to maximize the weighted sum power transferred to all EH receivers subject to a given set of minimum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints at different ID receivers and per-antenna power constraints at transmitter. In contrast to conventional sum power constraint across all transmit antennas, per-antenna power constraints (PAPCs) are used in this thesis because of the implementation in reality and the limit of the linear region of a power amplifier equipped with each antenna. The output power will saturate when the input power is too high. Operation in the saturation region, however, implies high distortions and nonlinearities that are introduced to the signals. We formulate the joint information and energy transmit beamforming design as a non-convex quadratically constrained quadratic program (QCQP) and obtain the solution by applying the semidefinite relaxation (SDR) technique.
